Quarter to Six

Reduction linocut print in 4 layers. Printed on Somerset Satin 250gsm paper.

One of a limited edition of 20 something! (I need to confirm this when they are fully dry)

Please do read the information below about shipping, packaging and the prints themselves.

This print features an imaginary room, in an imaginary setting, that is built from memories and other places I have visited, and also represents somewhere I might like to live!

Whether it is sunrise or sunset is ambiguous. The rat is making the most of the cat on the windowsill who has turned his back to the apples on the floor. There are cauliflowers and leeks in a basket, coffee and sugar bowls, and lots of other small intricate details.

About: This print has been made in the reduction process, which destroys the lino block as it is used and therefore means that no further prints can ever be made. Each layer has been printed by hand in my studio. Due to this complex process, there are imperfections and irregularities on each print, which is part of the beauty of lino cut prints. I have tried to show a selection of the edition above to give you an idea of this. I believe this makes each print individual, and also that it shows the hand made nature of each one. The entire edition took over 40 hours to carve and print (and many more hours of thinking and planning!).

Size: The print area dimensions are roughly 30cm x 40cm. Each page has been trimmed by hand, so the page size is roughly .35cm x 48cm.

Materials: Printed using oil based ink on Somerset Satin art paper.

Shipping: I have decided to send these prints rolled in cardboard tubes with acid free paper and tissue paper, as the likelihood of damage while in transit is lower than in a flat box! I will enclose an A2 cello bag with each one, and on receipt of the print I strongly advise that you remove it from the tube and place it in the bag, and if needed weigh it down carefully with books to remove any curvature of the paper.

All prints will be sent tracked and a link will be sent to your email.

Customs: If you are from outside of the UK, I cannot account for any customs charges that might be applied to your order. I currentrly cannot ship to the EU or Northern Ireland due to the GPSR packaging regulations brough in on the 13th December 2024. If you live in Northern Ireland, please do get in touch however as I do make frequent trips back home (to NI).

Damage: If the print arrives damaged, please alert me as soon as possible. I will refund you in full should the print be damaged en route. If I can I will replace it!

Returns: If you decide that you wish to return the print to me within 28 days, I can accept returns as long as they are still packaged and in original condition. You will need to cover the cost of the return shipping, which must be tracked and include sufficient coverage for the cost of the print.

Riso prints: This is an original artwork printed by hand, however I may also offer it as a risograph print in due course, which is machine printed and an open edition. Your artwork will remain an original, one of the limited edition!
